In January, the second graders took a week to become penguin experts. They read books, watched videos, did special projects, and wrote their own fact books. They put to use their knowledge of penguin parenting and became penguin parents for a day. Each second grader brought a "nest" to keep an actual egg in, and were responsible for making sure their egg was with them and protected at all times though out the day. The penguin eggs even got to go to recess. At the end of the day, the eggs hatched and the second graders got to meet their new friends! It was a fantastic week! A few of our penguin projects! |
