In the midst of learning about changes to Earth's surface we have been talking about Earthquakes. Today we spent some time discussing what considerations builders would take in before they started a project in areas effected by earthquakes. Then we talked about what things we'd have to consider to build something in the mid-west. Our task was to use 100 toothpicks and 50 marshmallows to build a bridge between two tissue boxes that were 6 inches apart. We then tested the "load" (aka pennies) that the bridge could support. Tomorrow we will learn more about building a bridge in areas that are prone to earthquakes.

The past few weeks have been BUSY!! We packed boxes for OCC (thank you for all of your donations!). In science we used gram crackers to explore slow changes to Earth's surface. iPoint came for spiritual emphasis week. They did a few team building activities with us, lead chapel, and came into our classroom to share with us. We also went to Open Doors Ministry to help sort inventory. So many great experiences were packed into these few days! |
