Richland Elementary 4th Graders rang the original Abercrombie School bell at 2:15 Thursday, April 9th to join the national bell ringing throughout the country to remember the end of the Civil War on April 9th 1865 - "150 years ago". Many of the soldiers that served at Fort Abercormbie fought in many of the major battles of the Civil War. The students took turns ringing the bell for 4 minutes to symbolize the four long years of the Civil War. In March we took part in Stop and Write (SAW) with the other elementary classes. It is always so fun to read what students are writing! There are also a few pictures from the start of our Poetry writing unit as well.
We are SO proud of the 4th graders for all of their hard work for our ND Night. Here are a few pictures and a link to our class' video. |
